Michael Baumer

Michael Baumer has practiced bankruptcy law nearly exclusively for over 20 years. He has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 1984, and has been board certified in both consumer and business bankruptcy law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1998, one of the few attorneys in Austin to have both certifications. In addition, he has served three terms as president of the Austin Bankruptcy Bar Association and has served on its board for fourteen years, has served on the local rules committee, and is a frequent speaker on bankruptcy related topics.


Megan Baumer

Megan has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 1988. Prior to joining her brother’s law firm as an associate attorney in 2007, Megan practiced real estate law in Houston. In addition to her legal practice, Megan is a professional artist specializing in sculpture.







Renée Purvis

Renée is our Chapter 13 legal assistant, and has over 20 years of experience in managing this type of bankruptcy case which can be up to five years in length. Chapter 13 cases frequently involve ongoing communications with secured creditors and the Chapter 13 Trustee's office, and Renée's expertise is invaluable in the smooth operation and successful conclusion of our Chapter 13 cases.





Melanie Mikulencak

Our Chapter 7 legal assistant, Melanie, is likely to be the friendly voice you hear when you call for an appointment. In addition to her Chapter 7 duties, Melanie handles the front desk and provides knowledgeable assistance to our clients and to other callers.








Amanda Williams

Our administrative assistant, Amanda Williams, organizes and files our paperwork, a critical task that she performs with great diligence and care. In addition, Amanda insures that all cases meet the Trustee document disclosure rules.







Sandra Baumer

Sandy serves as our accounting assistant and has many years experience in law office management. Sandy handles our invoicing and can answer questions regarding your fee balance.
